OTDeck

Licence

Offline activation

For OTDeck installs with no internet access. The air-gapped computer writes a request file, you upload it here from any online computer, and you take the signed response file back. No machine on the plant network needs to reach the internet.

Not open yet. OTDeck Pro and Team are not on sale yet; offline activation opens with the first release. Until then this form answers "not on sale yet".

Activate a key

  1. In OTDeck, open Settings → Licence → Offline activation, enter your key and choose Save request file.
  2. Take the file (otdeck-activation-request.json) to any computer that is online, for example on a USB stick.
  3. Upload it below. Your browser downloads otdeck-activation-response.json.
  4. Bring that file back and choose Import response file in the same dialog.

The same form handles activation and deactivation requests; the file says which one it is.

Release a seat (deactivation)

A Pro key works on up to 3 devices. To move one to another computer without internet, release it first:

  1. In OTDeck, open Settings → Licence → Offline activation and save a deactivation request.
  2. Upload that file here, the same way. The seat is released and you get a confirmation file.
  3. Importing the confirmation file into OTDeck is optional; it only records that the release went through.

Seats of online computers can also be released in the Polar customer portal (the link is in your receipt).

What the file contains

This site passes the key to our licence provider (Polar) to activate or release the seat. Nothing else is stored except the signed answer, kept for 30 days so that uploading the same request file twice returns the same answer instead of using a second seat. The answer contains a hash of the key, never the key itself. The response file is signed; OTDeck checks the signature, so an edited file is rejected.

Problems? Write to [email protected] and attach the request file.
